We are looking for a Business Analyst\u00a0<\/strong>to join our Data Engineering team and play a key role in shaping how data, reporting and insight are delivered across the business. This is a newly created and high-profile position within the team offering a great opportunity for someone with a strong data background to work with both technical teams and wider business stakeholders and help move the business forwards through more consistent, scalable and trusted reporting across multiple group entities.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t

As a Data Business Analyst, you will:<\/h1>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
  • Work closely with data engineers, analysts and FP&A colleagues to improve the quality, structure and usefulness of our data outputs.<\/li>
  • Translate business needs into clear stories, specifications, acceptance criteria and test cases.<\/li>
  • Act as a bridge between the business and technical teams to define reporting requirements, and ensure requirements are clear, achievable and aligned to business value.<\/li>
  • Triage and prioritise new requests and analyse and prioritise backlogs.<\/li>
  • Improve data modelling, reporting catalogues and data governance practices.<\/li>
  • Lead stand-ups, retrospectives & acceptance meetings\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
    \n\t\t\t\t\t

    Candidates will need the following, knowledge, skills and experience:<\/h1>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
    \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
    • A Business Analyst with a strong background in data analysis, business intelligence, data engineering or a similar data-focused environment.<\/li>
    • Confidence working with SQL to query, validate and understand data.<\/li>
    • Experience using Power BI for reporting, analytics or stakeholder-facing insight.<\/li>
    • Knowledge of data modelling concepts, such as dimensional modelling or semantic modelling.<\/li>
    • Exposure to agile ways of working, backlog management or product ownership responsibilities.<\/li>
    • Experience supporting data governance, reporting rationalisation or data quality initiatives.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
      \n\t\t\t\t\t

      Personal qualities required:<\/h1>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
      \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
      • The ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.<\/li>
      • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail and communication skills.<\/li>
      • Experience managing competing priorities (relating to triaging requests) and helping bring structure (to busy backlogs).<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
        \n\t\t\t\t\t

        In addition to the above, ideal candidates will also have the following:<\/h1>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
        \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
        • Experience working in a multi-entity or group company environment.<\/li>
        • Understanding of financial planning, forecasting or performance reporting.<\/li>
        • Experience in financial services, motor finance or credit would be beneficial, but is not essential.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
