    The Role<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>

    This is a newly created role with the opportunity to contribute towards establishing the direction of a credit control function for the Evolution Funding group and coach and mentor a junior credit controller. The role will sit within the finance team and engage in credit control across all group entities reducing aged debt and mitigating credit risk.<\/p>

    The Credit Controller will manage funder and dealership credit accounts within the motor finance portfolio, ensuring timely collection of payments, adherence to FCA standards, and effective resolution of queries to support strong cashflow and minimise delinquency rates.<\/p>

    Responsibilities <\/strong><\/p>

    • Manage a portfolio of motor finance dealer accounts for various cashflow streams (loan advances \/ commission \/ unwinds \/ Quality disputes \/ debit backs)<\/li>
    • Proactively liaise with sales teams to collect overdue balances, arrears and negotiate realistic payment plans<\/li>
    • Monitor aged debt, early arrears and late\u2011stage collections, escalating high\u2011risk accounts when required.<\/li>
    • Identify dealers of concern and follow appropriate forbearance processes.<\/li>
    • Manage direct debit failures, payment defaults, and broken repayment arrangements.<\/li>
    • Engage with funders on overdue balances<\/li>
    • Co-ordinating collection activity across departments and managing the data flow<\/li>
    • Begin pre-legal work where appropriate in liaison with the legal team<\/li>
    • Weekly reporting highlighting overdue monies across the group across cashflow streams<\/li>
    • Work closely with payments teams and treasury across the group to maximise working capital.<\/li>
    • Produce and implement processes ensuring robust controls and controls are in place for each group entity.<\/li><\/ul>

      Skills & experience required <\/strong><\/p>

      • Extensive experience in a credit control or accounts receivable role ideally at a group level in an FCA regulated business.<\/li>
      • Experience managing debtor ledgers and credit control processes.<\/li>
      • Ability to conduct credit checks, assess credit risk, and set credit limits.<\/li>
      • Strong communication & negotiation skills to secure payment arrangements while maintaining customer relationships.<\/li>
      • Skilled in reconciling accounts, resolving queries, and managing aged debt reports.<\/li>
      • Proficient in Excel and accounting\/ERP systems (NetSuite would be an advantage).<\/li>
      • Ability to handle difficult conversations professionally.<\/li>
      • Persistent, resilient, and confident when following up on overdue payments.<\/li>
      • High attention to detail and accuracy in all financial records.<\/li>
      • Professional, ethical, and able to deal with sensitive information discreetly.<\/li>
      • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.<\/li>
      • Strong numeracy, literacy, and IT skills.<\/li>
