We are looking for the right people to join Evolution at a very exciting time as we are in a period of significant growth.

The leading motor finance broker is looking for an experienced Test Analyst to join their development team. This is an ideal role for a Junior Test Analyst looking to take the next step up to Test Analyst role or a Test Analyst looking to expand their experience and progress their career working in a relaxed environment for the leading motor finance broker. The role provides the opportunity to work within the organisation supporting and enhancing existing applications and on new projects which will move the business forwards.

The Test Analyst responsibilities will involve:

  • Working on scoping out test scenarios and cases to execute against small changes through to large scale projects.
  • Preparing test approach and any environment and data requirements
  • Manual execution of test cases raising and managing defects with the relevant teams
  • Working with development and business analysts to identify test scenarios and to resolve defects

Main duties are:

  • Reviewing change request/requirement specifications/bug reports to plan test approach and provide test estimates
  • Identify test and environment requirements from relevant documentation
  • Writing test scenarios to explore all impacted areas including relevant levels of regression coverage
  • Execution of tests and capturing/documenting test results
  • Investigating, raising and helping to resolve any arising issues
  • Reporting test scripting and execution progress and any blockers in a timely manner
  • Attending and contributing to meetings in line with the Test Analyst role
  • Liaising with Business Analyst and Development teams
  • Providing support during the UAT period as required
  • Creating and maintaining regression scripts
  • Ensuring standards and best practices throughout the testing phase are adhered to
  • Contributing to the ongoing improvement in the development life cycle within the organisation through testing of the project and feedback on and enhancement to processes

Essential skills:

  • Strong and demonstrable Functional test experience
  • Regression, UAT and non-functional testing understanding
  • Defect management experience including use of defect management tools
  • Excel and Word experience
  • Experience with web and non-web based application testing
  • Good understanding of the SDLC
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Self-motivated and pro-active
  • Organised
  • Good Communicator
  • At least 2 years’ experience of working in an Engineering team and environment
  • Flexibility in working hours based on project commitments

Desired skills:

  • BDD experience or understanding
  • Cross browser testing
  • API testing
  • Agile or Waterfall understanding/exposure
  • UX understanding
  • SQL understanding with the ability to perform database queries and manipulation

The Test Analyst will be measured against their ability to accurately analyse and define test scenarios, carry out test scenario execution and record the nature of any fault/issue ensuring that a robust solution is delivered to our customers. This role provides scope to define and improve processes and grow the Test Department within the organisation.

Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per year
